PHOTO GUIDELINES
Below you’ll find the guidelines which all challengers must follow. We ask you to carefully read the guidelines BEFORE submitting any photos.
Often the best way to showcase your results is to keep as many similarities in your start and final photos as possible. We want you to wear the same clothes, be standing in the same place and take your photos at the same time of the day.
The one difference people should focus on is your transformation.
Lighting: This may sound like a silly one, but please make sure there is good lighting in your photos and we can see you clearly. The best lighting is natural light so try and take your photos during the day in a room that has a window.
Background: We want people to focus on your transformation, so it is best to stand with your back to a plain background. We find that a door or white wall in your house works best!
Clothing: Voting for the challenge is done on your body transformation, therefore when choosing your clothing we need to be able to see your body. Tight fitting clothes or activewear work best.
Posture: The best way to show your transformation is to take your photos in a relaxed posture. This means head up, stand with your back straight and look forward. No slouching or pushing / pulling your stomach in or out and please keep your arms by your side.
Arms: We said it above, but this is an important one. You arms should always be relaxed down by your sides. Please don’t hold your arms out like a penguin or put them behind your back. Your arms should not be out in front of you or on your hips. Simply, relax those arms and let them drop down by your sides.
Full length: All photos should be full length and include both your head and your feet. Photo’s that are not full length will not be considered for voting.
Ask a friend: Finally, you’ll need to either ask a friend to take your photos or learn how to prop your phone up and use the timer on your phone camera. Photo’s should not be selfies, taken in the mirror or have any filters used on them. Please do not crop your photos and instead make sure you are standing in full frame in the camera. Photo’s should be taken from chest height and not at an angle.
In short, the goal of your start and final photos is to demonstrate the changes in your body and allow people to clearly see your transformation.
